OVAM | Young talent recognised with 2024 Ecodesign Awards

OVAM and Flanders Circular celebrate young design talent with the 2024 Ecodesign Awards. These ambitious students are working towards a sustainable future with innovative circular ideas. The 2024 Ecodesign Award for students went to the project Lumeco, a glucose sensor for diabetes patients featuring reusable components, reducing waste and the need for new raw materials.

Other winners also impressed the jury, such as Polystep, an affordable prosthetic leg for developing countries made from locally available materials like plastic bottle caps and standard parts. Another standout was Size-ID, an app that minimises online shopping returns by estimating size and fit through body scanning.
