LIPOR | Technical mission to Cabo Verde for solid waste management project

LIPOR is undertaking a technical mission to the island of Maio, Cape Verde, as part of the CITRES project (Integrated Center for Collection and Treatment of Solid Waste), co-financed by the EU and the Portuguese Institute for Cooperation and Language. The mission, scheduled for November, aims to conduct a waste characterisation campaign to gather updated data on urban waste flows generated by the island's residents. This will allow LIPOR to refine the technical solutions it has developed to better suit the local context. 

The CITRES project seeks to enable the Maio Municipality to effectively and sustainably manage the urban waste produced on the island. This will be achieved through the creation of a waste collection, treatment, and valorisation system, as well as raising public awareness on environmental issues.
