NLWA | East Londoners urged to fight single-use plastic waste

04 February 2025 Members' News

East Londoners are encouraged to join the reusable revolution, with 80% of residents eager to cut down on single-use plastics. Following a successful trial in Barnet, the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) has expanded its ‘Bring It’ campaign to Waltham Forest and neighboring boroughs, urging households to switch to reusable food and drink containers. With north Londoners discarding 46 million plastic items weekly, small changes like using reusable coffee cups and food containers could make a big impact. Barnet’s pilot campaign saw a notable rise in reusable coffee cup, bag, and water bottle usage, highlighting the growing commitment to sustainability across the region.
