Ten Community fridges (citizen-driven initiatives that combat poverty and food waste by redistributing unsold food) have opened in the Brussels Region accompanied by BE COOL and supported by Brussels Environment and the French Community Commission. And it is just the beginning…

With support from the City of Brussels, BE COOL is relaunching its call for applications to encourage new community fridges in Brussels. Each fridge operates independently with its own approach. Starting a community fridge requires minimal funds and equipment, along with knowledge of a few rules. BE COOL offers free individual and collective support to provide the necessary tools and knowledge. This support is for anyone wanting to start a new community fridge initiative, including individuals, associations, neighborhood committees, youth movements, restaurants, and grocery stores.
