LIPOR | The Bottle Caps Operation closes a chapter, having recycled 1 033 tonnes of caps

The Bottle Caps Operation has reached its conclusion, but LIPOR's commitment to social responsibility continues. In 2006, LIPOR and its associated municipalities launched the initiative to encourage the public to collect plastic bottle caps for recycling. Over 19 years, the program successfully recycled 1 033 tonnes of caps and provided 2 094 orthopedic and similar devices worth EUR 668 254, improving the lives of 740 beneficiaries.

With the new legislation requiring caps to be attached to containers, it's time for citizens and LIPOR to move to a new phase of participation. After 20 stages, the initiative, as it was, comes to an end, but this is just a new chapter. LIPOR remains committed to social responsibility and sustainable communities, and they will continue distributing equipment from the final two phases (2023 and 2024) in the first half of this year.
