Belfast | Reminding pupils about the impact of waste

18 February 2025 Members' News

Belfast City Council is bringing Terrible Tales of Trash, an interactive theatre show, to 30 primary schools, reaching 4 000 pupils aged 7 to 11 years. Through historical reenactments, students will learn how waste has impacted different eras, from cavemen to World War II. The show highlights the environmental impact of rubbish and encourages action. Lord Mayor hopes it will inspire young people to think differently about waste and take responsibility for the planet. This initiative supports the council’s commitment to environmental education and sustainability.
