The Government of Navarra and Ecolec Foundation has launched the #GreenWeek24 campaign to raise awareness about the importance of recycling domestic electrical and electronic waste (WEEE). This initiative encourages public participation in recycling efforts, with information points available from 9 to 16 October for citizens to drop off their electronic waste. In the last year, Navarra collected over 1 700 tonnes of WEEE. Specifically, in 2023, 1 714 tonnes were gathered, with 1 034 tonnes deposited at 97 clean points across the region and 680 tonnes collected through home service requests. Approximately 46% of this waste was collected at clean points and through door-to-door services, while 38% came from professional distributors and 16% from other management sources. The council has emphasised the importance of proper disposal at authorized centers to avoid environmental contamination, as these materials contain hazardous components and critical raw materials that require special handling.
