City of Warsaw | Cooking at the market to reduce food waste

26 November 2024 Members' News

As part of the educational campaign “Cooking at the Market”, Warsaw residents learned to creatively and deliciously use products that often end up as waste. Practical tips and recipes from the initiative are collected in the free e-book "Warsaw’s Markets Don’t Waste Food". This campaign aimed to encourage residents to adopt more sustainable shopping and eating habits, showing that anyone can master culinary improvisation.

During four sessions at the Wolumen Market, an eco-educator demonstrated how to repurpose imperfect yet edible products into tasty dishes, sharing storage tips and simple processing methods. Shoppers actively participated, exchanging ideas and experiences. The initiative supports collaborative economies and fights food waste by promoting education and reducing waste.
