CITEO | Improving packaging and paper recycling performance

CITEO has launched a new call for projects aimed at enhancing recycling, focusing on all packaging and paper types. With ambitious recycling targets set by the EU and France for 2030—such as increasing recycling rates by 19% for cardboard, 26% for aluminum, and 32% for plastics—innovation and technology development are crucial to meet these goals. The new project call will support initiatives to optimise recycling processes, improve recycling yields and quality, and create sustainable, value-added outlets for recycled materials. It also aims to reduce the environmental impact of recycling by decreasing resource use (water, energy, raw materials) and ensuring material circularity, including suitability for food-contact applications.
