Recently the European Commission published several initiatives to hear stakeholders’ views on laws and policies currently in development linked to the circular economy and waste management. ACR+ contributed to three of them:

Regarding the first consultation, ACR+ called for provisions ensuring the long-term sustainability of bioplastics rather than measures to increase their use. In its feedback to promote repair and reuse, ACR+ highlights that legal and economic instruments are needed both on demand and supply side, such as the inclusion of repair and reuse not only in a waste policy but particularly in a product policy based on binding instruments supported by specific indexes. Regarding the revision of the Waste Framework Directive, ACR+ advocated for waste prevention through the establishment of specific target on waste generation per capita achievable for the coming years.
