Brussels Environment, the local Coordinator of the European Week for Waste Reduction in Brussels, registered 135 actions for the 2015 edition of the EWWR.
The majority of the registered actions were carried out by schools, which took part in the “Zero waste” action, organised by GoodPlanet. This action aimed at finding waste free alternatives for everyday activities by reducing packaging waste, using paper in a responsible way and to consume in a different way. Furthermore, a lot of schools took part in an action “drinking bottle”, organised by a municipality, in order to reduce drink packaging at school. Unfortunately the Week was held during the recent lockdown of Brussels due to a terror threat and as such some actions had to be cancelled.
Currently the evaluation phase is being carried out. Results are expected by the end of January 2016.
