On 27 November 2016, as part of the European waste prevention week, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area celebrated the seventh edition of the RFESTA in the city of Barcelona. The event was organised in collaboration with ACR+ members Catalan Waste Agency and Barcelona City Council as well as citizen organisations such as the Food Weapons Platform, the Resource Bank or the Time Bank.

The aim of this participatory and festive event was to disseminate the values of waste prevention promoting good practices available to all.  It lasted all morning and was enlivened by musical performances with instruments made with pallets. Workshops were also held during that time on ecological horticulture, furoshiki, natural cosmetics and creative cuisine to avoid food waste while a space was dedicated to a market and stands of second-hand shops and professional repair of appliances and furniture.
