Fifty-two schools in ACR+ Wallonia have been selected for the "Ecole plus Propre" (Cleaner School) label following a call for applications to all Wallonian schools by Be Wapp and Fost Plus, organisations responsible for the prevention, selective collection, sorting and recycling of household packaging waste in Belgium. Since its launch in 2019, nearly 180 schools have attempted to meet the challenge. The initiative aims to help schools implement action plans that integrate cleanliness, waste sorting and waste prevention. Supported by on-site guidance and personalised follow-up, as well as financial assistance to improve waste sorting and cleanliness infrastructure, schools also benefit from awareness-raising activities and a toolkit to promote waste prevention.
