ACR+ member the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) has financed the construction of the new composting plant at the waste treatment facilities of the La Plana association of municipalities with EUR 1 million from the call for grants to improve infrastructures for municipal waste management in Catalonia 2022. The new infrastructure is key to the use of organic waste from a body that brings together 14 municipalities located in the south of the county of Osona with an associated population of 34 000 inhabitants and with a selective collection rate of municipal waste that exceeds 80%. The new facility has a treatment capacity of 1 500 tonnes of organic waste per year, while the old one had a capacity of 700 tonnes per year.
