The Penha de França neighbourhood in ACR+ member Lisbon has a new door-to-door selective collection model for paper/cardboard and plastic packaging. The project aims to increase selective collection and recycling rates in the city, in order to comply with European directives and national legislation. The project started on 8 November with the delivery of the equipment. On 22 November, the selective collection circuits were launched. Waste collection is maintained six days a week, alternately, according to the respective waste streams. With regard to organic waste, collection will take place at a later stage.
