More than 60 towns and cities in Navarra are taking part in an awareness campaign to reduce the waste generated in municipal and street markets. Among other actions, informative material is distributed and a total of 8,000 reusable cloth bags are handed out with the slogan "The best waste is the waste that is not generated”. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Territorial Cohesion of ACR+ member Government of Navarra, is now in its second edition with an 85% increase in the number of participating municipalities compared to the previous year.
The aim of the campaign is to ensure that the sellers at the different stalls separate and deposit their waste correctly in the different bins in their locality; and to encourage customers to be aware of prevention in their consumer habits.
