The selective collection and management of textile waste in Spain has enabled ACR+ member Humana to recover more than 8,600 tonnes during the first half of the year, the equivalent of 35 million garments. 90% of these will see their life cycle extended thanks to reuse and recycling. Furthermore, this management of textile waste has avoided the emission of 52,534 tonnes of CO2.

Humana has recovered 8,612 tonnes from January to June compared to 8,456 tonnes in the same period last year, an increase of 1.8%. Textile waste is deposited in the 5,000 containers installed in easily accessible spaces thanks to agreements with town councils, organisations and private companies. The 35 million garments recovered are sent to the two plants Humana has in Madrid and Barcelona to prepare them for reuse.
