ACR+ member the region of Wallonia has initiated a new campaign “Moi, je le fais” in order to address the problem of littering. As of 27 September 2017, citizens who want to contribute to keeping their streets and neighbourhoods clean can contribute to the cause by becoming “Ambassadors of tidiness”.

The new project follows a successful clean up action that took place in spring 2016 after which many participants have expressed their wish to continue the action throughout the year. The clean-up activity has gathered more than 70,000 volunteers that collected more than 130 tonnes of waste.

The objective of the new project is to maintain the tidiness of the immediate surroundings of the citizens by collecting waste on the street and around garbage cans. To achieve this, each citizen can sign up to become an ambassador, sign a tidiness charter, choose the area in which he wants to operate and receive his tidiness kit, containing gloves, a safety vest, an armband, a trash picker and a bag. Citizens can act alone as well as form groups with others in order to maintain their neighbourhood clean.
