The project started in January 2020 and so right before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the global health emergency has not slowed down the project activities, thanks to an intensive set of mitigation actions put in place by the project partners. In the last months several meetings, workshops and training activities have been organized on line, delivering on effective exchange of knowledge about resilience and inclusiveness related topics, such as urban planning, disaster risk management and circular economy.

This period saw an impressive engagement of the local authorities of Indonesia, as well as of the national government representatives (above all the Ministry of Environment and Forestry), which has allowed the project partners to better understand the Indonesian context and priorities (such as informal settlements, rural migrants and marginalisation, poor waste management), as well as to frame the CRIC project within the national and local agenda.

In the coming days, ten urban analysis reports – one for each Indonesian pilot city selected to test tools and implement the project outcomes – will be published on the project website. This crucial milestone sets the framework to develop the tools and shape the training activities which are part of the project action plan. ACR+ was responsible for the elaboration of five urban analysis reports and we are excited to share soon with you the main results.

The project partners are now working to develop tools to help cities in addressing resiliency in their agenda, supporting the decision makers with capacity building activities. In particular, ACR+ is responsible to develop a waste management tool: this is a great chance to capitalize the experiences within the ACR+ network and offer to the members cooperation opportunities.
