Over 12 700 waste reduction actions underway during EWWR 2024!

The 16th edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction taking place from 16 to 24 November is again meeting with success! It is uniting participants from 29 countries in 12,724 actions focused on waste prevention, reuse, repair, and recycling. This year’s theme, food waste, highlights the environmental and social challenges posed by the estimated 59.2 million tonnes of food wasted annually in the EU. The campaign seeks to transform Europe’s food systems by raising awareness about sustainable production and consumption while promoting innovative solutions to reduce waste at every level—from households to businesses.
