Learning from the pandemic to build “anti-fragile” communities
The E-VOICE project commemorated its end with a two-day event in Padua, Italy. Partners gathered for the last time to commemorate the results of the project: research to assess the impact of Covid-19 on young people. The results of the research and the several exchanges among the partners involved helped to build a decalogue of key elements to build resilient communities.
During the Conference participants learned about the need to address “anti-fragility”, defined as the power of a community to not only address the challenges getting back to original point but also to learn from them and improve its situation. The project has been also presented at the First Council Commission of the Veneto Region, in Venice. The last day began with a visit to the Popular Canteen of Padova, where for 140 years food and several additional support services are provided to people in need. Among the activities discussed, volunteers presented their daily collaboration with local markets to collect unsold food. Finally, the project culminated in a celebratory event held in Gazzo, the Italian municipality coordinating the project. The event saw the participation of several young local residents who had been involved with the project since its inception.
