NLWA | North London primary schools soon to be In The Know about waste prevention

The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) has launched "In The Know", a new program to boost environmental awareness and promote a 'waste less, recycle more' culture in north London schools. Inspired by a 2022 research project, which explored waste reduction in 61 primary schools, this outreach program addresses the need for comprehensive waste education and minimisation. "In The Know" is designed in collaboration with teachers and aims to embed waste reduction activities in schools.
The program includes tailored waste prevention education, interactive lessons, and support for schools to improve their waste and recycling systems. Participating schools will benefit from two waste audits, workshops for staff, enhanced signage and communication, and long-term waste prevention planning with resources for teachers.
