NLWA | Funding to boost community clothes exchange initiative

Funding from the North London Community Fund, run by the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) to support community-based waste reduction initiatives, will help improve the weekly clothes swap at St Andrew’s Church in Thornhill Square. This support will allow the team to upgrade their space with new clothing racks and better storage. Starting with just two volunteers, the swap has become a beloved tradition where locals exchange clothes, books, and toys. Over 40 kg have been swapped within the community, with 900 kg donated to charity. By year-end, the team hopes to donate 1 000 kg of clothing.
