ACR+ member Diputación de Castellón and Ecovidrio, the non-profit organisation responsible for the management of glass packaging waste recycling in Spain, have launched the 'Mapamundi Challenge' campaign, an initiative to encourage the commitment of the citizens of 124 municipalities in the province to recycling glass packaging. This challenge, which is taking place between 1 June and 31 July, aims to exceed the glass recycling rate of the participating localities compared to the same period last year. In 2021, the citizens of the province of Castelló recycled a total of 7,964 tonnes of glass containers. This means that each citizen recycled an average of 13.6 kilograms of glass.
