The director of the ACR+ member Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) has announced the allocation of EUR 21.7 million to 74 local authorities to promote the selective collection of municipal waste and more than EUR 300,000 for producers or composting activities in companies and campsites.

These grants are part of the ARC’s 2021 call for proposals to promote selective collection, in particular from the European Union’s Next Generation funds. These grants will support projects for the selective collection of bio-waste, self-composting projects, selective collection of used vegetable oils, and selective collection of textile waste, which will enable the implementation of efficient selective collection systems, mainly for the organic fraction, which is key to increasing selective collection in Catalonia and to meeting European recycling targets.
