ACR+ member Barcelona Municipality, through the BIT Habitat Foundation, granted with EUR 80,000 the project “Barcelona Revolta't”, one of the six winning projects of the first call for innovation grants “The City Proactiva 2020”.

The aim of the project is to implement decentralised management of organic waste at five collection points, four schools and a restaurant, to transform it into compost. The impact is focused on the direct and circular management of organic waste and the production of compost for growing food, improving the environmental awareness of citizens and the recycling habits of the participating communities, as well as promoting the circular economy and a more sustainable food system.
