From January 2019, ACR+ member Warsaw Municipality will implement new rules for sorting waste with the introduction of separate bio-waste collection, from both households and the HoReCa sector and markets. Instead of the three existing fractions (glass, paper and plastic, residual waste), up to five fractions will be selectively collected: glass; paper and cardboard; metals, plastics and multi-material packaging; bio-waste; residual waste. New containers will be given to residents of the municipality and an educational campaign will be launched.

Warsaw’s waste management system and the challenges linked to it were presented during the COLLECTORS project’s second conference in Malta. The municipality will host the third event of the project at the end of the first semester 2019.
