Bruxelles-Propreté | Local service for safe chemical waste disposal

The PROXY CHIMIK trucks are a key neighborhood service provided by Bruxelles-Propreté. Operating on fixed dates and times, these mobile units collect small household chemical waste close to where residents live and work. In 2024, Bruxelles-Propreté collected 51 874 kilos of small household chemical waste through this local system. Of this waste, 61% is made up of paints and glues, 10% of cooking oils and greases and the remaining 29% is divided into different categories including cleaning products, solvents, mineral oils and aerosols. These collections have made it possible to prevent this chemical waste from contaminating soil and the environment. The service is accessible throughout the city with each truck stopping for 45 minutes at each location.
