Brussels Environments | Operation Recyclons: 72 Brussels schools put their bins on a diet

19 November 2024 Members' News

The educational teams and children of 72 primary schools in Brussels have decided to take action against waste. These schools are winners of the call for applications "Opération Recyclons" (“Operation let’s recycle”), a pilot programme of Brussels Environment supported by Fost Plus, conducted as part of the Clean.brussels strategy. These schools are committed to reducing their volume of waste, sorting it correctly, recycling it and thus improving cleanliness. The objective of Opération Recyclons is for the winning schools to reduce the quantity of waste by 75% within 3 years, while aiming for perfect sorting.

As part of the EWWR, inter-school meetings are organised on the theme of food waste on 20 and 26 November (FR and NL), for the schools in the Opération Recyclons programme. The aim of these days: to inform, inspire and equip school staff, whether they are management, teachers or canteen staff.
