On their path to improving their waste management strategies, the WINPOL partners tackled the complex question of fee modulation. During an online thematic seminar organised by ACR+, they investigated how innovation can help setting up schemes that charge waste producers on the basis of the actual amount of waste generated. The examples unveiled at this occasion are closing the project’s database of good practices. It included a presentation by ACR+ member the Catalan Waste Agency of the PAYT system based on pre-paid implemented in the city of Argentona to understand its system of PAYT based on pre-paid bags and with a presentation by ACR+ member EMULSA of the system of electronic closure it has set on containers in Gijón.
