Covar14

The waste management Consortium Covar14, based in Carignano, Piedmont, established an award for the best thesis about waste, with the objective of recognising the value of study on this subject, in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Health of the Polytechnic University of Turin. Two awards have been created (valued respectively at 1,000 and 500 Euros) for master's degree theses in the technical-scientific area and which have obtained a final evaluation of at least 100/110 in Piedmont universities.

The theme of the thesis can cover any of the following; waste management, recyclables, industrial waste, composting, energy recovery, environmental education, waste treatment facilities, landfill management and waste fees. "We plan to continue in this direction in order to create a research pool, involving students and driving them to devote their studies to our systems and services”, says Stefano Napoletano, vice-president of Covar 14. Applications will be accepted until June 2016. The evaluation committee will be composed of representatives of Covar14, academics and professionals with specific skills.
