ACR+ organised the FOODRUS First policy roundtable on legal and economic barriers to food waste prevention and reduction, that took place online on 11 October 2023. During the 2-hour interactive meeting, the barriers identified by FOODRUS partners were presented and further refined with the meeting participants.   

   

The workshop aimed to understanding how far the identified barriers are representative of the national and regional contexts of the participants; evaluate to what extent these barriers still persist, how important they are, and where and how there exist cases where policy-makers managed to overcome the barriers; and identify other barriers that do not appear in the current overview of barriers identified by the FOODRUS consortium partners.
