ACR+ member Barcelona Municipality has launched a free clothing collection service to promote textile recycling and reducing waste. The service allows residents to schedule a home pickup of their unused clothing, shoes, and textiles. In the first six weeks of operation, the service has collected 45 tonnes of textiles for recycling, reducing the amount of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. The collected textiles are sorted and sent to recycling facilities, where they are repurposed into new materials.
