The Municipal Waste Management Departement of the Capital City of Warsaw is responsible for introduction and maintenance of the effective system of municipal waste management in Warsaw.

From August 1, 2014 it implemented new regulations in the entire city. Thenceforth Warsaw is divided into 9 areas that are being serviced by 3 waste collection companies. Requests and complaints services are provided by 19115 contact center for citizens and Helpdesk-OK intervention platform, thanks to which complaints start being processed in a matter of minutes after receiving. In Warsaw there's an IT system, which gets up to date data from GPS, RFID, and weights mounted on dustcarts. The combination of these data allows for full settlement of services: to know where, when and how much waste has been removed.
