Shaping the future of sustainable public procurement in Europe

26 November 2024 ACR+ News

ACR+ has officially become a member of the Urban Agenda Partnership on Innovative and Responsible Public Procurement, a strategic initiative under the Urban Agenda for the EU. This partnership aims to leverage public procurement as a powerful tool to drive sustainability and innovation in urban areas. By joining the initiative, ACR+ strengthens its commitment to integrating circular economy principles into procurement processes and supporting cities in adopting responsible practices.

On 19 November, ACR+ participated in a partnership meeting held in Haarlem, the Netherlands, where it showcased its work on public procurement and contributed to the development of the Action Plan for 2025-2028. The plan focuses on advocacy, particularly regarding the forthcoming revision of EU public procurement directives, and capacity building to equip stakeholders with the skills needed for sustainable procurement practices. ACR+ also emphasised its alignment with the activities of C-PRONE, a network promoting circular procurement, to ensure a cohesive approach in advancing these goals across Europe.
