New factsheets highlighting circular economy pilots
The DECISO project has published a new series of factsheets offering detailed insights into its circular economy initiatives across four pilot regions: Hamburg (Germany), Alentejo (Portugal), Northwest Germany, and Western Macedonia (Greece). These factsheets provide an overview of the pilots' activities, ambitions, challenges, and the stakeholders driving change in key sectors such as waste, water, energy, and agri-food.
Each factsheet highlights how the pilots are tackling regional challenges while leveraging local strengths. Hamburg’s focus on fostering startups and advancing its Circular City Strategy, Alentejo’s efforts to innovate in the agri-food sector, Northwest Germany’s work on water circularity, and Western Macedonia’s drive for biomass energy are just a few examples. Despite challenges such as funding gaps, regulatory hurdles, and infrastructure limitations, the factsheets showcase the opportunities these regions are seizing to advance the circular economy.
