Since the beginning of 2024, LIPOR has developed a methodology for reporting and measuring the environmental impact of second-hand goods markets in its area of operation. With the help of second-hand sellers completing a survey, it was possible to estimate the amount of goods reused during five markets held in the first half of the year. These events resulted in over 24 000 kg of goods being reused, corresponding to approximately 20 000 items staying in circulation and avoiding disposal as waste. This effort helped prevent CO2 emissions equivalent to the sequestration of 3 hectares of forest. In the second half of the year, LIPOR will continue promoting and measuring these markets' contribution to sustainability.
