The Catalan Government has authorised the Waste Agency of Catalonia (ARC) to grant approximately EUR 5.7 million in subsidies to improve regional waste disposal infrastructures. The two direct subsidies aim to enhance municipal waste disposal facilities. The largest grant, amounting to EUR 5 043 034, is allocated to the Bages Consortium for Waste Management. This grant will fund the stabilisation project and other complementary actions at the controlled landfill in Manresa. The second subsidy, totaling EUR 685 482, is awarded to the Ripollès County Council. This funding will support modifications to the plant and the treatment of the leachate pond at the closed Ripollès landfill.

Both projects are part of the Sectoral Territorial Plan for Municipal Waste Management Infrastructures of Catalonia. This plan serves as a public interest instrument, improving citizens' quality of life while ensuring the implementation of a sustainable waste management model in cooperation with local administrations.
