Cercle national recyclage 80px

Following the second meeting of the French consultation on a new deposit scheme for plastic bottles, ACR+ member Cercle National du Recyclage and other seven organisations have launched an inter-associative working group to assess costs and benefits of this proposal, taking also into consideration potential spillover effects on sorting habits, financial balance and costs coverage.

At the beginning of the year, the French government had relaunched the debate about the introduction of DRS in France, which had been envisaged in the context of the anti-waste law for a circular economy adopted in 2020 to tackle the low recycling rate of plastic bottles (below 60%). A decision is planned for June this year.
