The management of urban waste in ACR+ member GREATER Pamplona achieved historic results in 2022. Last year, the system of opening containers for organic waste and residual waste with a card provided to residents, a project that began in October 2021, was extended. This led to an increase in the recovery of organic waste, which reached 13 619 tonnes, an increase of 43.04% on 2022. At the same time, the new system has made it possible to reduce the generation of mixed waste, which was 70 742 tonnes, 15.27% less than in 2021. 

 

Among the separate collections, the most significant was that of packaging, which reached 11 681 tonnes, an increase of 18.56% compared to the 9 852 tonnes collected in 2021. It is also worth noting the increase in the collection of clothing, footwear and textile material in specific containers, which increased by 10% compared to the previous year, with 1 368 tonnes collected.
