ACR + member CITEO has published the results of a study conducted across mainland France from February 2020 to August 2021. The study takes a close look at the content of the household mixed waste bins at home and on the streets. It shows that there is still packaging and paper in the mixed waste. 25% of the weight of the household waste is packaging and paper (54 kg/inhabitant/year). Sorting has improved in recent years, with a 24% reduction of packaging and paper in household waste between 2017 and 2020/2021. In the street bins 47% of the waste is packaging and paper (1.6 kg/inhabitant/year).
