The City Council of Gijon, involving ACR+ member EMULSA, and Ecovidrio, the non-profit organisation in charge of managing the recycling of glass containers waste in Spain, are launching the "Recycle glass for them" campaign for the eighth consecutive year. It is an initiative that aims to mobilise citizens to recycle glass containers to care for the environment and thus contribute to a cause of solidarity: the prevention of breast cancer. According to the latest data for 2021, the inhabitants of Gijón recycled a total of 5,623 tonnes of glass containers, which means that each inhabitant recycled an average of 20.9 kg.
