Porto Ambiente's organic waste collection project, which is based on the recovery of this waste in compost, takes a further step in its strategy to reach practically the entire city by the end of 2023, in collaboration with ACR+ member LIPOR. The project has been extended to around 12,000 more families in the city of Porto. To facilitate citizens' access, the organic project's expansion strategy also calls for the reinforcement of the number of proximity bins, with an increase of 650 bins. Through this initiative, the citizens of Porto have collected more than 1,400 tonnes of food waste since the start of the project. Source: www.lipor.pt (in Portuguese)
