Turning coffee grounds into mushrooms and fertilizer is possible in ACR+ member Cascais Ambiente. A new “Nãm Urban Farm” centre, an urban farm that uses an end-of-life resource, coffee grounds, to produce a new food and a biological fertiliser, has been launched at the town market in Cascais. This circular economy project completes its cycle with the sale of mushrooms and the use of the residual compost as biological fertiliser in the community gardens of Cascais.
