A new tool to protect the Mediterranean Sea from marine litter is coming. It is the Coastal Cities Network, a network of good practices already introduced in the Italian territory, which are now available to anyone who wants to replicate them. They have been gathered by the ENI CBC Med COMMON project, in which ACR+ member Sardegna was involved. The first protagonists of the network are the municipalities of the Italian pilot areas, Maremma, in ACR+ member Tuscany region and Salento. In the last year and a half, the two municipalities have taken part in a path of mutual evaluation, with tourist and fishing operators, which will now go to share their experiences at the Mediterranean level. There are already 15 good practices collected by the network, relating to two macro-categories: reduction of waste production / recycling and waste management during fishing activities.
