The Vozes do Mar (Voices of the Sea) project, with around 400kg of plastic collected every month off the coast of Cascais, has already built four recycled plastic picnic tables, available for public use. The project is promoted by Claro association, with the collaboration of the fishing community of Cascais and the support of the ACR+ member Cascais Ambiente. The fishermen collect plastic waste from the coastline and deposit it in containers installed for this purpose. The waste is then forwarded to a waste management company, where it is transformed into urban furniture. Vozes do Mar was one of the winners of the Adapt Cascais 2021 Fund, an initiative created by the municipality to support associations in the development of climate change adaptation projects in Cascais.
