The “Law of the Butts” webinar organised by the Cascais City Council, involving ACR+ member Cascais Ambiente, is now available online. It informed about the new obligations, measures that it is necessary to adopt for the proper deposition, collection and treatment of the residues of tobacco products, and answered the questions that economic agents have about that legislation.

The municipality intends to find a way to value tobacco waste in the perspective of promoting the circular economy and reducing undifferentiated waste. Thus, Cascais embarked on a strategy to combat the reduction of butts in the streets. Awareness campaigns and other initiatives that should be known by the end of the year are still being defined.
