ACR+ member Zero Waste Scotland will administer a total of GBP 600,000 in grant funding provided by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund to empower shops from islands to take the next steps in the war on waste by ditching single-use packaging and moving to reusable options. Finance from the Islands Green Recovery Programme Refillery Fund will be provided for dispensing and other equipment that enables customers to obtain grocery products in reusable containers brought from home.

Regarding other grants, Zero Waste Scotland and the Scottish Government are also helping the resource management industry meet the challenges of the coronavirus, allocating more than GBP 820,000 in grants to waste management firms across the country to adapt in response to the pandemic.
