The Waste Taxation Observatory, promoted by ACR+ member ENT Foundation, has published a study entitled “The Waste Charges in Spain 2020”. Approximately 47% of the 125 municipalities analyzed have a rate model with fixed quotas, and in the municipalities where the rates are not fixed, there is a general absence of environmental criteria in their articulation. The analysis suggests that the potential of waste charges to improve waste management has been little exploited.

It has been concluded that the average value of the waste tax in 2020 is EUR 90.2 per house, compared to 2019 (EUR 89.4), the average household rate has increased by 0.88%.
