In July, the Flemish government agreed in principle to some changes to the Materials Decree. In this way, Flanders is complying with new European regulations. Europe wants, among other things, that producers bear the waste costs of a number of products with disposable plastic. ACR+ member OVAM is now conducting studies into the composition of waste and the cleaning costs. Based on this, the costs could be divided equally among the producers from 2023.
